Chairman David Olivencia
David has extensive experience in strategic planning, value
selling, technology optimization, and business alignment with
functional specialties in marketing, finance, and general
management.
Prior to his career at Oracle, David held various enterprise
architecture and strategy leadership roles at Ford, Intelligroup,
and Accenture.
Highlights include:
- Led teams through information technology and business transformations
- Created and rolled out global organizations and processes
- Negotiated and sold multimillion dollar contracts
From a board leadership perspective, David currently serves
on the Board of Notre Dame’s Mendoza School of Business and
is a board member of the ND Alumni Club of Detroit. David
is President of the newly formed HITEC (Hispanic IT Executive
Council) focused on helping companies increase the amount
of Latinos in senior IT leadership positions. David is President
Emeritus of National Society of Hispanic MBAs’ Detroit Chapter,
where he received the 2006 Executive of the Year Award. David
is also a member of the IrishAngels Angel Investor network.
From a civic and community perspective, David was Coalition
Chair for Gubernatorial Candidate Dick DeVos, the 2005 &
2006 Chair of the Detroit Hispanic Development Corporation’s
Technology Breakfast “IT Executive Bridging the Digital Divide”
and Founder and Chair for the 3rd consecutive Notre Dame Business
School Retreat “Strengthening the Spirituality within our
Leadership”. Recently, David was featured in BusinessWeek
as part of its MBA “Day in the Life” Series and Hobson’s Hispanic
MBA Student’s Guide 2007 Edition.
David earned his undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering
from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology (#1 US News and World
Report), and his M.B.A. from the University Notre Dame (Cum
Laude) where David also received the 2006 Distinguished Alumni
Award. David also completed the Harvard Business School Corporate
Governance program with HACR.
Secretary Arturo Ordaz
Arturo Ordaz is a Solutions Architect at Ford Motor Company (NYSE:F), a global automotive industry leader based in Dearborn, Mich. Ordaz works within the Customer Knowledge Services program for Ford's Marketing Sales & Service division, a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) program.
Arturo joined Ford Motor Company in 2003 as a systems technical analyst in Ford's Information Technology Systems Leadership Development Program for High Value Talent. He’s held a series of increasingly responsible positions, where he has lead the deployment of technology projects throughout various business units, including projects for the Customer Service Division, Office of the General Counsel, Global Information Technology Business Operations, and Marketing Sales & Service Division.
Ordaz earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science at Brigham Young University and a Masters of Information Systems (MIS) at the University of Michigan-Dearborn. He is a TOGAF Certified Architect by The Open Group.
Ordaz currently serves as the Education chair for the Detroit
chapter of the National Society of Hispanic MBAs Board (NSHMBA

MI State Senator Valde Garcia
Elected as the first Hispanic Senator in Michigan's history,
Valde Garcia has the pleasure of representing the 22nd District
which comprises Livingston, Shiawassee, and the southern portion
of Ingham counties. 2007 represents Senator Garcia's sixth
year serving as a state senator and his eight year working
as a legislator. Before being elected in to the 22nd District,
Valde Garcia represented mid-Michigan in the House of Representatives.
With the beginning of his second Senate term, the Senator
received the distinction of being assigned to serve on the
Senate Appropriations committee, while additionally chairing
two of the Appropriation's subcommittees; the Department of
Environmental Quality (DEQ), and State Police and Military
Affairs. Additionally, the Senator serves as vice chair of
the General Government committee and is a member of the K-12,
School Aid, and Education committee, both of which are Appropriations
subcommittee.
Additionally incorporated into the Senator's committee assignments
include him vice chairing the newly created Homeland Security
and Emerging Technologies committee and serving as a member
of the Senior Citizens and Veterans Affairs committee. Collectively,
the Senator contributes to 14 Senate Committee budgets.
Senator Valde Garcia grew up in Clinton County, Michigan.
He is the son of migrant workers who instilled in him the
value of what it means to be a citizen of the United States.
The lessons he learned from watching his parents struggle
to raise a large family while harvesting crops provided him
with the inspiration to become who he is today. From that
experience, Valde learned what it really means to enjoy the
freedoms we share as American citizens. This understanding
inspired him to become a public official and help others benefit
from and appreciate all that United States and the State of
Michigan have to offer.
Valde Garcia earned a Bachelor's degree in Political Science
and History from Cedarville University, Cedarville, Ohio.
Upon graduating from college, he was commissioned as an Army
officer in the United States armed forces. He served for nine
years on active duty before going on to serve an additional
nine years in the United States Army Reserve. It was during
this period of time that he was recalled to active duty to
serve in support of Operation Desert Storm at Fort Benning,
GA. To date, the Senator has served for 25 years in the military
and is now ranked as a Colonel of the United States Army National
Guard.
The Senator's road to success included working as a legislative
aid and chief of staff for several state senators. He was
also a teacher and business representative before joining
the legislature in 1999.
In addition to his extensive legislative responsibilities,
the Senator serves on the Selection Committee for the White
House Fellows commission, a position in which he was appointed
to by President George W. Bush, is a board member for both
the Federal Home Loan Bank Board and the National Association
of Latino Elected Officials, and serves as an honorary board
member for the Congressional Youth Leadership Council.

Board Member Kelly Harrigan
Kelly is Deputy Political Director for the Michigan Republican Party overseeing internal voter programs and coalitions. She joined MRP from the Attorney General’s office where she was Project Manager for the Michigan Cyber Safety Initiative.
Over the past twenty years, she has been involved in local, state, and national politics, most recently serving as Deputy Coalitions Director for Dick DeVos’ gubernatorial campaign. Prior to that, she worked as Assistant Director of Shared Pregnancy Women’s Center in Lansing.
Kelly is a Board Member of Students for Life of Michigan, as well as Lead Consultant and Advisory Board Member for the Michigan Republican National Hispanic Assembly. She earned a BA from Elmira College in Elmira, New York, where she served as Communications Director for the College Republicans, and a JD from Thomas M. Cooley Law School with a concentration in Business Transactions.
